Baby Playtime

Being a fairly young mom, I can't say I have many friends with babies and therefore Lyla has few baby friends.

But yesterday we got to hang out with Becky and her baby cuteness, Owen, who is only 2 months younger than Lyla. We get together every so often and it is so nice to have someone to talk baby to, or just talk to in general. As our babies get older, the gap between their ages becomes less and less apparent. When Owen was 2 months and Lyla was 4 months, Owen just seemed so tiny and... well, young! But they are only 2 months apart! That just goes to show how much babies learn in a couple of months.

We had a blast! Lyla and Owen handed toys back and forth... Okay, well they stole each other's toys... Lyla got mad. Owen didn't really care. They poked each other's faces, pulled at each other's hair, stared at each other and then just kind of did their own thing. Quite a fun day.

Both seem quite laid back and are definitely the observant and studious types, though Owen seems a bit more outgoing and talkative.. and he likes to head bang to music which is just the most hilarious and cutest thing ever! He also just strikes me as a very determined baby, much more so than Lyla. It's amazing how such small beings can have such huge and different personalities. I just love it! Hopefully we can have many more playful playdates as the babes get bigger.

The other day I met a mom at the park who has a little girl, Lily, born just 1 day after Lyla and delivered at the same hospital! The girls didn't get to meet because Lily was sound asleep in her stroller. But hopefully Lyla can have another baby friend someday!

In other news, I heard dutch dance music today for the first time this year.... Tulip Time is upon us! We got Lyla her first pair of wooden shoes, and I'm on the search for a Dutch outfit for her. This probably seems weird to anyone who is NOT from West Mi. We're very Dutch here... Yes, even us adopted Koreans.

Some pictures for your viewing pleasure.
