A Day in the Life

A post on Lyla's typical day.

Lyla wakes up between 9:30 and 10:30 every day. She wakes up and doesn't cry, but simply makes little noises and plays with her stuffed monkey until I come and get her. She's a happy riser! We do a diaper change and put on some Aveeno Lotion for her eczema. She eats about 4.5 oz of milk. Sometimes we do a cereal feeding at around noon, but usually she just takes another bottle at 12:30 and then naps until 2 or 2:30. At around 3, she is ready for solids, and we do cereal mixed with fruit, and if she finishes that off, we'll give her more fruit, but usually she'll refuse to eat just plain fruit. Unless it's Banana Raspberry Oatmeal. That's good stuff. About an hour later she eats 4 or 5 oz of milk, and then another bottle before bed. Between 5 and 6 she'll nap again, usually for about 45 minutes, but sometimes for an hour and a half! After her evening nap, she has veggies and fruit... and again, she usually doesn't eat much of the fruit, but she loves many veggies... Carrots are her favorite right now, but she likes peas, too. It's funny because when she first started eating solids, both of those veggies made her cry. Before bed, we get into jammies after more lotion, read books, play guitar and then finally, she eats and goes to sleep. This could be any time between 10:30 and 12. Lately it's been closer to 10:30, which has been awesome!

A couple pics from our day...
